This year, the Genesis Research Group team are proud to have been fundraising to combat Alzheimer’s on behalf of Alzheimer’s Society and other charities.

Globally, dementia is an enormous challenge, with nearly 50 million people currently living with the condition, and millions more friends, family, and carers affected, including many of our team. This fact, plus our pride in being involved in evidence-based research projects directly aimed at tackling dementia, made it a natural choice for our support.

Only recently, members of our team conquered the Great North Run in Newcastle, UK, the largest half marathon in the world, to raise almost £700 for the charity. Together with other fundraising activities, including a craft sale, bake sale, and Women’s World Cup sweepstake, the team has now met its target of £1500!

This is in addition to the $1300+ the team raised earlier this year through sweepstakes and a Genesis Research Group ‘sports day’ for  National Kidney Foundation and Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières – USA in response to Turkey’s earthquakes.

We’d like to send a big ‘thank you’ to the many team members who’ve taken part and really put the ‘fun’ into fundraising, and also to everyone who has donated – you are amazing!

Our fundraising continues, with members of the team soon to be taking part in the South Shield’s Memory Walk. If you’d like to donate, you can do so here. Thank you!
